Mobile
If your game uses the microphone during gameplay — for voice comms, capturing how kids pronounce words, or any other in-game voice feature — those features won't work during our standard playtest types.
Our mobile app needs access to players' microphones to record their verbal feedback, which means your game can't use the microphone at the same time.
Your options on mobile
No-audio playtests: We can run playtests without recording audio, so your game can take the microphone permission and players experience it as intended. You'd capture their feedback through a post-playtest survey instead.
Tweaked app settings (Android only): On some Android devices, we may be able to capture usable video footage while your game uses the microphone. Results can vary by device, so we'd run an internal test before anything goes out to players. On iOS it’s not possible to try with tweaked settings so running a no-audio playtest applies there.
Not sure which option fits your game? Get in touch and we'll help you figure out the right setup.
PC
On PC, there's no microphone conflict between our Windows app and your game. Players' verbal feedback gets captured in the playtest video, and your game's microphone features work exactly as intended.
Want to check the flow and features before sending it to players? You can run an internal playtest free of charge — here's how to do that in our Help Center.
