Running Playtests Without Audio Recording

At PlaytestCloud, we understand that every game development team has unique needs. For those who prioritize written feedback or are conducting longer studies, we offer the option to run playtests without audio recording.

Benefits:

  • Efficient Analysis for Longer Studies: For extended playtests, the absence of audio means less video content to analyze, making the process more manageable. We often see studios order playtests with and without audio. For example 10 players with audio and 20 without.

  • Cost-Effective: Enjoy a 25% discount when you opt for videos without audio recording.

  • The playtest videos are still reviewed by our QA team to ensure that the players are being active in the playtest.

Limitations:

  • The absence of audio means you'll miss out on the valuable 'think aloud' feedback that players typically provide during gameplay.

  • There will be no transcript or AI-Powered Analysis for the playtest.

How to Order:

  • Set up your playtest order as usual.

  • In the custom instructions to PlaytestCloud on the order form, leave a special request indicating that you'd like the playtest without audio recording.

Available to Specific Customers: This option is exclusively available for our Professional Advanced and higher customers.

Deliverables:

Upon completion, you'll receive:

  • Playtest videos (without audio).

  • Survey responses from the players.

Choosing the right playtest method is crucial for obtaining the insights you need. If you're unsure about which option to go for or have any other questions, don't hesitate to reach out to hello@playtestcloud.com.
