If you have a game folder or installer ready for playtesting, you can set up a playtest that allows players to install and play the game on their own Windows devices.

Step 1: Prepare a .zip file

To get started, prepare a .zip file containing all the materials you want to share with players. If you’re unfamiliar with creating a .zip file, refer to these official guides for Windows or MacOS.

File Restrictions for the .zip File:

  • Maximum number of files: 10,000

  • Maximum size per file: 80 GB

  • Maximum total size: 100 GB

Step 2: Order your playtest

  • Once your .zip file is ready, upload it while setting up your playtest.

  • If players need specific instructions to launch the game, consider adding a Custom Briefing to your playtest. This ensures players have clear, step-by-step guidance.

  • Complete the remaining playtest details to suit your preferred setup. Read more

How does the player experience work?

  • Based on your targeting and playtest configuration, eligible players will be invited to participate.

  • Players will agree to the NDA and can then download the .zip file you uploaded while setting up the playtest.

  • They’ll receive instructions to unzip the files and, if necessary, install the game.

  • The PlaytestCloud app will guide players through additional playtest instructions and record their gameplay.
