Steam keys can be used to playtest various types of games on Steam, including paid released games, unreleased games, or Steam Playtests.

Add Steam keys to your playtest
Once your Steam game has been added to your playtest (see How to playtest a Steam game on PlaytestCloud for more details), proceed to the Add Steam Keys section. Under Do players need to use Steam keys to participate?, select Yes.
You'll see the number of Steam keys required for the playtest. We request 2x the number of players in your playtest to ensure we can over-recruit and deliver faster results.
Submit your Steam keys
Click Add Steam keys.
In the modal that opens, paste the Steam keys—one key per line.
Click Submit.
Additionally, you can preview the instructions that will be shown to players to help them activate their Steam keys and participate in your playtest.
How do players receive Steam keys?
Based on your targeting and playtest configuration, eligible players will be invited to participate.
They are required to install and login to the PlaytestCloud Windows app, where they will receAfter agreeing to the NDA, players will receive a Steam key and will given the instructions on how to activate the Steam key.
The PlaytestCloud app will guide players through any additional playtest instructions and record their gameplay.
