Your subscription determines how granular your player targeting can be. Here are the different types of targeting, and what types of players you can reach with each.

Basic Targeting

Available on: Pro Basic and all plans

Best for: Simple targeting needs

What you can target

  • Location: US, UK, Canada

  • Age: Adults

  • Gender

  • Player type: Casual / Midcore / Hardcore

  • Genres: Our standard genre list. Read more here.

  • Specific games: A predefined list of approximately 20+ titles. Read more here.

  • Devices

  • Retargeting: Yes, you can re-invite players you've already playtested with!

What you cannot target

  • Kids (ages 3-15)

  • Specific players through custom screening questions

  • Players of games not on our list

  • Player level

  • Players with certain spending habits or purchases

  • Churned players

  • Players with specific progression requirements

  • Niche traits (e.g., uses a controller, has played Season 7, etc.)

Advanced Targeting

Available on: Pro Advanced, Enterprise

Best for: Studios with clearly defined target audiences, specific niche audiences, or complex research criteria.

What you can target:

  • Any country or region we support (Europe, LATAM, SEA, etc.)

  • Kids (ages 3–15)

  • Players through custom screeners (write your own pre-qualifying questions)

  • Custom audiences, including:

    • Players of any game (even if not listed)

    • Players at specific levels or progression points

    • Spenders / non-spenders

    • Churned players

    • Fans of particular franchises

    • Players with peripherals (e.g., controllers)

    • Players who have completed events/seasons/modes

    • Players with specific in-game behavior history

Use cases where Advanced Targeting makes a big difference

  • Testing new features with only end-game players

  • Monetization research (e.g., “players who have made at least one IAP”)

  • Kids usability studies

  • Recruiting for competitive PvP titles

  • Longitudinal studies requiring precise audience matching

  • LiveOps research for seasonal content

TL;DR

Advanced targeting gives you maximum flexibility when your research needs are specific, niche, or require players with validated game histories. Use Basic Targeting when your audience is broad and you want to move fast. Use Advanced Targeting when you need highly specific players or kids, or when your research depends on targeted player traits.
